3D Modeling & Animation (3DMA) is an introductory level course that teaches students the foundational knowledge and skills required for creating basic 3D models and animations. The course focuses mostly on modeling using Autodesk 3ds Max along with some introductory use of Substance Painter while working with textures and materials. This course is the required pre-requisite for students interested in the Game Art & Design course.
3DMA is a project based class where students demonstrate their understanding of the applications based on mastery after completing learning tutorials to gain the basic skills needed to be successful. Students are not expected to have any previous experience with any of the applications or techniques learned in the class nor are they expected to have access to any special hardware/software outside of the classroom.
